Wells Fargo May Bargaining Update

This was the sixth round of bargaining in Albuquerque by our national bargaining team since we began meeting with Wells Fargo management last November to begin contract talks. This meeting went well and was productive. We currently have 9 tentative agreements (“TA’s”) with the Company. Several of those TA’s have been discussed and passed back and forth since the first bargaining sessions in November. The Company once again continues to send a whole barrage of HR, Labor Relations, Internal Attorneys and External Attorneys from the Littler Law Firm to our contract talks, for what must be a considerable expense. Not only do they have at least a dozen people at the bargaining table, they also bring several people who remain in their separate caucus room. Presumably, Wells Fargo believes that bringing an army of attorneys and management staff will intimidate us, but we stand our ground and we are not intimidated by their tactics or other shenanigans.

The Lead Attorney for Wells Fargo tries asking the same questions over and over again as a stall tactic. Our CWA team stands strong on letting them know we are aware of what they are doing to push back and cut short this tactic by management. We’re focusing on moving forward and racking up more TA’s so we can reach a final agreement that we can present to the membership for a ratification vote as quickly as possible. We are committed to bargaining as a unified team. We bargain based on the wishes of all the union employees at Wells Fargo, AND for all of the future union Wells Fargo employees. As we ramp up bargaining at each of the individual branches we will provide more updates on our progress.
