Wells Fargo Bargaining Update: February 26, 27 and 28, 2025

Communications Workers of America and
Wells Fargo Bank Union Contract Negotiations
February 26, 27 and 28, 2025
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Between the January and February negotiation sessions, the mobilization team worked on getting ready for our return to the bargaining table, the CWA Staff Representatives assigned to negotiations met several times with the Wells Fargo workers elected to the national bargaining committee to work on strategies to move bargaining in the direction that will bring the Wells Fargo employees a great contract.

We heard that mobilization was taking place as we were bargaining, such as, Wednesday, February 26th a letter was delivered via email to the CEO, Charles Scharf and upper management, a letter signed by Unionized Branch employees. Thursday, February 26th , emails sent to Tanja Thompson, Attorney for Wells Fargo Bank, and the management people who were at the bargaining table. The emails were to demand a fair contract and bring attention to our bargaining efforts. Also, during last week’s negotiations session an Unfair Labor Charge was served on Tanja Thompson and the Area Manager in Albuquerque, Nicole Nott. This was filed by CWA for one of their own former managers. It was a great three days of mobilization
pressure.

We could tell the mobilization actions were influencing the mood of the other side of the table. Thanks to all those who participated in these actions. It really makes a difference.

We moved proposals back and forth across the table approximately thirty-three times. We have made progress with several of the proposals and have had great conversations as to the importance and relevance of the proposals we presented to them.

Because of conflicts in bargaining team committee members’ schedules we did not have a full team this time. But we kept in contact with those who could not attend during the sessions.

We will meet again in March.

In Unity,

Bonnie Winther (District 7), Kisha Haynesworth (District 2-13)
