CAMPAIGN UPDATE ANNIVERSARY EDITION: Our movement began 1 year ago today
Happy Anniversary! Let's celebrate our amazing progress building a national union in only one year!
Our union movement officially began one year ago today when the Eldorado branch in Albuquerque, New Mexico voted to become the first union branch in Wells Fargo's 172-year history. In 12 short months, we've organized 23 branches in 14 states, as well as our first non-branch department - the Conduct Management Intake Department consisting of approximately 40 Investigators who review customer and employee complaints.
You can check out our progress over the past year at our election map on our betterbanks.org campaign website. Just click on the map below and scroll down.
Year 2 also begins in New Mexico with Artesia branch voting on January 16
It's fitting that our first union election in the New Year will also take place in New Mexico. This time at a branch in Artesia.
“When you work for a corporation, you get the benefits of being a well-known company, but that's not always enough. Today, we decided to fight for better benefits, protections, & and an environment where we are not afraid of being human & making mistakes. Employees and customers deserve better, and that's why we, the Artesia Branch, have decided to organize and fight for each other. We hope other branches in New Mexico also realize they deserve better and join us in our fight to make Wells Fargo a better company for all.” - Danielle Olivas, Teller at Artesia Branch.

Survey: Are you concerned about pay, sales pressure, layoffs, and remote work?
Over the past few months nearly 300 Wells Fargo workers have taken our survey. If you haven't had a chance to take the survey and share your thoughts, now is the time. We are planning to publish the results of the survey in January.
One of our preliminary findings: 84% of branch workers are worried that sales goal pressure is returning to Wells Fargo.
Please take a few minutes over the holidays and let us know your opinions about pay, sales pressure, layoffs and offshoring, remote work and accommodations, and other issues important to you!

Contract Negotiations Round 2
Our national bargaining team sat down for another round of contract negotiations for 3 full days with Wells Fargo's top labor attorneys and HR consultants on December 11, 12 and 13 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Round 3 is set for January 7, 8 and 9 back in Albuquerque again. Stay tuned for many more bargaining updates after the holidays about the next exciting steps our union contract negotiations are going to take.
All the union branches are united and staying strong to fight for one union contract to make all of our working conditions better because we're one union!
