Year 2: Flagstaff AZ Branch files for Union Election
Wells Fargo Workers Kick Off New Year with a Bang! Workers at Flagstaff, Arizona Branch File for Union Vote.
Workers in the East Flagstaff, Arizona Branch located at 2625 N 4th Street are fighting back against treacherous retaliation by their regional director. Management fired one of the bankers for mistakenly leaving out an endorsement stamp. Bankers from multiple branches who heard of this travesty are crying foul because they have never heard of someone being fired for this.
In response, the workers in Flagstaff also redoubled their organizing efforts and yesterday delivered their letter signed by a super majority of the bankers and tellers in their branch demanding that Wells Fargo voluntarily recognize their union. But because we are under no illusion that Wells Fargo upper management will respect our rights without a fight, the workers wasted no time and immediately filed for a union election with the National Labor Relations Board to get a vote scheduled. Here's a quote from their letter and you can see an image below:
"It is imperative that our leadership understands our commitment to improving Wells Fargo—not only for our staff but also for the customers we serve. We have witnessed firsthand the challenges posed by inadequate staffing, insufficient compensation, unclear policies that can lead to nepotism, inconsistent training across positions. Write-ups for employees after union activities were notified to upper management, targeted towards those who support the union efforts in place, leading to wrongful termination. These issues hinder our ability to deliver the exceptional service our community deserves.
Through union organization, we aim to ensure that every employee's voice is heard, fostering an environment of mutual respect where we can work collaboratively toward constructive solutions. Our vision is to create a workplace where individuality, peace of mind, and security are paramount, enabling us to elevate the standards of service and customer care."

Employees and customers deserve better, and that's why we, the Artesia Branch, have decided to organize and fight for each other. JP Morgan Chase Workers Start Union Organizing, Inspired by Wells Fargo Workers United-CWA!
Wells Fargo is not the only major bank that is implementing unreasonable Return To Office (RTO) Policies. JP Morgan Chase sparked a revolt among its workforce when it implemented a 5-day mandatory RTO policy this past week. Several JP Morgan Chase workers have reached out to the Committee for Better Banks-CWA asking for help.

"Some employees have held private conversations about the possibility of forming a union, Barron’s has learned. Some said in interviews that they were reading up on a small union organized at Wells Fargo, where the negotiation process for a contract between executives and union employees is under way. "
Let's continue to lead the way for all bank workers by redoubling our organizing at Wells Fargo. We are an inspiration across the financial services industry!

Contract Negotiations Round 3
On January 7, 8, and 9, our national bargaining team kicked off 2025 by sitting across the bargaining table for 3 days in Albuquerque, New Mexico from Wells Fargo's attorneys, HR and upper management for another round of contract negotiations.
We are making progress but we have A LOT of work to do to get a fair agreement on all of the improvements we need and deserve. We need to stay strong and united.
In a show of solidarity, the CWA Local Union 7108 in Waterloo, Iowa sent our bargaining team flowers and a box of candy as a visual reminder to Wells Fargo executives at the the bargaining table that we are one big union and we have each others backs.

Question of the Week
Question: If I organize my branch or department and we join our union, how much are union dues and when will I have to start paying?
Answer: Great question! CWA's 400,000 members have established dues at 1.3 percent of wages. So dues are $1.30 for every $100 you earn.
But for new members, no one pays a penny in dues until you have a contract in place. So now is the time to join because you will get a chance to vote our first union contract. To be clear, since we are still bargaining our first contract, nobody at any of Wells Fargo's union branches or in the Conduct Management Intake Department that voted to unionize are paying ANY union dues yet, and they won't until after we vote to approve or "ratify" any deal that our bargaining team negotiates with management.
Since this is OUR union, our only source of funding comes from membership dues. This also means that members have a say over how our dues are spent. And all of our dues goes back into helping our members and future members. Specifically, our dues goes towards making sure we have the resources to have a strong union, including having staff - organizers, bargaining reps, attorneys, and researchers - who work full time to help us succeed in making positive change at Wells Fargo.
