Another branch steps forward. Congrats to the team at the Schaumburg Branch in Chicagoland!
We hit another milestone this week when the team at the Chicagoland branch at 210 S Roselle Road in Schaumburg, Illinois delivered their signed letter to management on Monday declaring they are forming a union. We filed the necessary paperwork with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to get a vote scheduled. The vote is tentatively scheduled for August 22. They will be the first branch in Illinois to have a union vote. If (when!) they win their union vote, they will be the 19th branch located across 12 states to form a union at Wells Fargo!
Here's an excerpt from their letter:
"We are proud of our work serving customers in our community. Our entire team is dedicated to making our branch successful. Unfortunately staffing has been a challenge for quite a while, and in the last few months it has gotten dramatically worse. We are so understaffed that bankers have to increasingly spend large amounts of time helping out on the teller line. We often have to work right through our lunch break. Customer wait times have increased and we have not been adequately compensated for our additional duties and workloads. Meanwhile customer service suffers. With the constant reduction of staff adding more job responsibilities for the rest of us without any additional compensation, we have decided we need and deserve a collective voice so that we can effectively advocate for ourselves as a group."

Have you filled out our new survey yet?
We want to know what is causing you stress at work.
We've been getting some powerful responses so far. Please take our new brief survey so we can learn more about what is causing you stress at Wells Fargo and what your questions about forming a union are.
- Is Charlie Scharf bringing back sales goal pressure?
- How are the recent announcements about layoffs, closing offices, relocation requirements, and ending remote work effecting you?
- Does understaffing and increased workloads cause you stress?
- Are you satisfied with your pay increases while Charlie Scharf gave himself an 18% raise of $4.5 million last year?
We also want your opinions on solutions:
- How could forming a Union improve your working conditions and make working at Wells Fargo better and more sustainable for you and your family?
- Why is Charlie Scharf having managers spread negative information about unions? Does he just want to maintain power and control so he doesn't have to be accountable?
- What information about unions would help you feel confident that it's the right choice?
Please share your opinions and take our brief survey. We'll share the results in a couple of weeks. And stay tuned for more exciting announcements later this week about our progress building our union at Wells Fargo.
Thank you!

Question of the Week:
Question: Are all non-disclosure agreements legal?
Answer: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) just released a circular to law enforcement agencies and regulators explaining how companies may be breaking the law by requiring employees to sign broad nondisclosure agreements that could deter whistleblowing.
"The law enforcement community uncovers serious wrongdoing by financial firms through whistleblower tips,â said CFPB DirectorRohit Chopra. "Companies should not censor or muzzle employees through nondisclosure agreements that deter whistleblowers from coming forward to law enforcement."
