Lake Elsinore CA Branch files for union election

Lake Elsinore Branch in California Deliver Letter Demanding Union Recognition, File for Election
This morning the Team at the Lake Elsinore Branch at 29265 Central Ave delivered their signed letter to their manager requesting that Wells Fargo voluntarily recognize their union since an overwhelming majority (7 out of 8) signed the letter. This is the second branch in California to file for a union election so they can join our growing movement!
Like many teams across the country, they decided to join our union to improve their working conditions and their ability to serve customers:
"Our team works hard, as do our direct managers, in order to serve the community, we are in. We strive to do this at the same high level as we have historically. However, that work has been made progressively harder by the decisions of those at the executive level over the last several years. The closure of branches in the area, the displacement of team members, and the decrease in staffing levels have created an increase in workload that has pushed all of us to our limits. Many of us have worked for the company for an extended period of time, through the scandals that have plagued the bank and we have weathered storms before. However, it has become increasingly apparent that branches are weathering this storm alone."

Over 80% of workers feel the bonus system is rigged

Have you taken our quick survey yet? Over 160 workers across the country, in branches and non-branches, have filled out our survey. Over 80 percent of respondents agree - Wells Fargo's compensation system is "Rigged."
Don't just take our word for it, even some Branch Managers have filled out our survey and agree that the system is rigged. Here are some comments from Branch Managers:
"They don’t award bonuses to higher wage employers. Most of those employees have been with the company the longest and earned their wages. But still don’t qualify for the special award bonus. Plus yearly raises are under 3% for most employees."
"They're not attainable and not clear how to reach them."

Is Wells Fargo about to follow JPMorgan's lead and announce a 5-day mandatory return to office policy?
Thousands of employees working remotely or hybrid at corporate offices and call centers are anxious about the drumbeat by a growing number of bank CEOs, led by Jamie Dimon at JPMorgan Chase to require everyone back in the office 5 days a week. Nevermind that many people's teams are scattered across the country so they'll just be on teams or zoom calls all day anyway; or that they've worked remotely for years and been a consistent top performer.

Question of the Week
Question: Is a Union a "Third Party"?
Answer: No, this is another myth spread by executives who desperately want to hold onto all their power to make decisions without having to listen to employees' concerns. A union is you and your coworkers coming together to wield your power by utilizing your unity and strength in numbers to gain a a voice and respect from top executives. A union is a membership organization. It consists of the members who work together at the same business, organization or government entity. Remember, when you join a union, it is "your" union.
