Team at Cartersville Branch Win First Union Election in Georgia

Last week, the team at the Carterville Branch, located at 499 East Main Street, voted 8-2 to become the first branch in Georgia to join our union and the 29th union location in the country! (You can check out our map with all the locations on our website at https://betterbanks.org/WFWU.) They overcame a brutal anti-union pressure campaign by management by sticking together and not falling for any of management's misleading anti-union talking points.

Leading up to the vote, the workers shared inspiring words explaining why they felt joining our union would help them improve their working conditions:

"There is no bargaining power with a single voice. A united voice is a stronger voice."  said Wade Payne, Senior Premier Banker.

Scarlett Goodner, Personal Banker, added, "People who work together WIN! We are stronger together and united as one."

"We organize for the day no one has to ask to be heard." exclaimed Rafael Espinoza Sanchez, another Personal Banker at the branch.

Congratulate the team on their victory and share the news with your friends and colleagues by sharing this post.

Wells Fargo gives CEO Scharf a $30 Million award, names him chair

Wow! Is Charlie Scharf's new $30 million bonus plus 1 million stock options appropriate or fair?! What was your last bonus?

Over the last couple of years Wells Fargo has given some employees a "special" $1,000 bonus that many people didn't qualify for because their managers were instructed to evaluate their team or branch on a curve, requiring them to give some people an "inconsistently meets" or less even though they were meeting all their goals and expectations.

Meanwhile, Wells Fargo just gave Charlie Scharf a $30 million special bonus PLUS over 1 million stock options. So his bonus equals the bonus of 30,000 employees. Is Charlie really worth more than 30,000 people who work hard every day to make Wells Fargo successful?

This is more evidence that makes everyone feel like our raises and bonuses are rigged after all!!! Take our survey and let us know what you think. It's time to take action!

Union members protest Wells Fargo advocating to privatize Post Office

Union members protest Wells Fargo advocating to privatize Post Office

Wells Fargo recently released a memo detailing a plan to dismantle the United States Postal Service (USPS). If implemented, the USPS would be broken up and sold for parts, resulting in slashing tens of thousands of good union jobs and raising prices sending mail by up to 140%.

Wells Fargo's memo encourages the use of lots of backdoor underhanded tactics to bypass opposition to this plan.

Recently the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) organized a protest rally outside of a Wells Fargo branch in Manhattan to bring attention to Wells Fargo's sneaky plan. They were joined by Communications Workers of America (CWA) members from Local 1101.

Speakers at the rally demanded that Wells Fargo negotiate with its own workers instead of union busting and advocating to privatize the U.S. postal service for profit! "The US mail is not for sale!"
